He worked at Petrobras for 30 years, leading the corporate areas of Safety, Environment and Health (SMS) in the Exploration and Production and International business areas. He also worked for six years at Petrobras Biocombustível (PBIO), where he was director of Ethanol and Agricultural Supply, and was a member of the boards of directors of Guarani S.A., Nova Fronteira Bioenergia S.A. and Bambuí Bioenergia S.A.
