Chemical Engineer graduated from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), with a postgraduate degree in Petroleum Processing Engineering from PUC-Rio and a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from COPPE/UFRJ.
He currently serves as Director of Oil and Natural Gas Exploration and Production Policy at the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), where he has worked for the past five years. He is a civil servant seconded from the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).
At ANP, he worked in the Operational Safety and Environment Superintendence, actively contributing to the management of operational safety for E&P processing and drilling units, as well as well integrity management, and served as Deputy Superintendent.
Before joining ANP and the MME, he worked for 15 years at the Research Center of Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN). Of these, seven years were dedicated to R&D activities in the areas of coal and coke, as well as pulverized coal injection into blast furnaces, the subject of his Master’s dissertation. He then spent eight years developing the Metal Packaging Innovation Center.
